The Chief Minister and Council of Ministers office in Gandaki was targeted by the protestors on the very first day of the Gen-G movement. From the premises of this office, Gen-G movement became violent in Pokhara on August 23. The next day, protesters set fire to the office where the glass was broken the previous day.

Pokhara's National Bank, Shahid Chowk Association and the provincial government are the government headquarters. Here are the Chief Minister's Office, State Government Ministries, District Administration Office, Kaski Jail, Internal Revenue Office, Land Port Office, Surveyor's Office, Federal Urban Development and Building Construction and other offices. Not even a stone was thrown at a ministry in this area. 

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management and the Federal Urban Development and Building Construction Office in the same compound are the same building in Kaski. How was it possible to avoid the ministry all around? Both these structures have been saved by the cleverness of Mahendra Upadhyay (Mannu) working in the secretariat of Physical Minister Prakash Bahadur KC. 

Protesters were sitting with friends in a nearby tea shop when they burnt down the Chief Minister's office on August 24. Just then, the news of the burning of the Chief Minister's office reached his ears. He rushed out of there. When the protestors reached the gate of the ministry, the chief minister's office was vandalized and set on fire. Now they will set fire to the ministry too. I went to get the laptop. It contained my personal, ministry and minister's files," Mannu said, "The gate and the main door of the ministry were closed. Since I don't have the key, I can't take out the laptop.' 

He sat at the gate of the physical ministry and watched the burning of the chief minister's office above. Meanwhile, 4/5 protesters started pelting stones at the ministry's security post. The lead there was broken. Inside was a jeep belonging to the Urban Development and Building Office under the ministry. After seeing that, one of the protestors said, "There is a government jeep there." Jam Jam.' 

The board of the ministry and building office is not clearly visible from the gate. The board of the Ministry is cut off by the bushes and plants in the front. A bolero jeep was visible from the gate. That jeep was still there on Tuesday evening. On the day of the incident, all the employees had left the vehicle and left the ministry at noon. Before the protestors arrived, the drivers of the five vehicles there had taken them to the provincial police office premises next door. One jeep was in the ministry as another driver had taken the key with him.

When the protesters saw the jeep and tried to enter, Mahendra was at the gate. He was torn. Meanwhile, he stood at the gate and said, 'Others have gone to go down there, not here. He said to go down.' After hearing this, the youth who wanted to enter the ministry went downstairs. The crowd also followed them. 

When the protestors tried to enter the ministry, Pokhara journalist Bina Thapa was nearby. She said that when 3/4 boys came throwing stones, Mahendra stood at the gate and pointed downwards. There were 3/4 boys like Lahure recruits. They came saying to go down after setting fire to the Ministry of Forestry,'' she said. They did not return later.' 

Mahendra said that the ministry was saved because the protestors could not get inside because they broke in immediately without any plan. He is saddened to see that the government structure has been destroyed even though one ministry has survived. If they were able to enter the gate, they would have seen the writing of the ministry and office. He managed to stop it at the gate and it was not damaged," he said while standing in the ministry courtyard, "What can be done if one ministry is spared? Looking at the condition of other important offices, the mind is confused.
