Manav Seva Ashram Gorkha Branch has entered its 14th year after completing 13 years. On the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the ashram, the ashram lit the lamp on Friday.

Chief of District Coordination Committee Mohan Bahadur Thapa, Chief of Gorkha Municipality Krishna Rana Magar, Chief of District Police SP Bharat Vick and others participated in the lamp lighting at the branch's office in Patechaur. The founder of the ashram, Ramji Adhikari of Gorkha Khoplang, established the ashram on 13th August 2069 in Hetaunda by protecting 5 destitute elderly people. 

The campaign of humanity and service that started in Hetaunda has spread all over Nepal, said the coordinator of Manavseva Ashram Gorkha. According to him, the ashram is currently providing services through 27 service centers in 21 districts of all 7 provinces of Nepal. There are currently 2,000 destitute children and elderly dependents in branches across the country. She also said that more than 12,000 people have been rescued since the ashram was established. According to the Ashram, more than 5,000 families of those who were rescued have been reunited.
