641 people from two wards were vaccinated against hepatitis 'B'

Hepatitis 'B' infection has been observed in 37 people from Chumanuvri-4 and 5. 37 people were infected during the 10-day hepatitis B test and hepatitis vaccination campaign conducted by the Kimolung Foundation in coordination with the rural municipality.
In Chumanuvri-5, 497 people were tested for hepatitis, and 28 people were found to be infected, said Wangchuk Chapten Lama, president of the Kimolung Foundation, which runs the camp. Among the infected, 17 are women and 11 are men.
Similarly, during the screening of 726 people of Chumanuvri-4, 9 people, 4 women and 5 men, were found to be infected with hepatitis B, he said. The foundation conducted hepatitis B testing and hepatitis B vaccination camps in two wards from July 29 to August 9. During the camp, 315 people from Ward No. 5 and 326 people from Ward No. 4 were diagnosed with Hepatitis Lama informed that vaccination against 'B' was also given.
