An electronic medical record system has been started at the GP Koirala National Respiratory Treatment Center at Shuklagandaki Municipality-5 Velchautara in the district.

Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel formally launched the system during a program on Tuesday. With the technical support of the World Health Organization, this technique was practiced in the hospital on May 14th.

Inaugurating the electronic medical record system, Minister Paudel informed that an agreement will be signed with the Government of India to expand the hospital to 300 bed capacity during the Prime Minister's upcoming visit to India. He said, "According to the detailed project report of the hospital, the cost of around 600 million rupees has been approved and the process has already started in the Ministry of Health of India."
