According to the Chitwan National Park, a female rhinoceros died after being swept away in the heat near Kawasoti-15 Gundrahi Dhakaha intermediate community forest.

According to Avinash Thapamgar, conservation officer of the park  A rhinoceros that went to drink water got stuck in the swamp and died this morning. Rhino horn and hooves are safe.

According to the latest national rhino count, there are 752 rhinos in the country in 2021. There are 694 of them in Chitwan National Park.
