Business house Lakshmi Group is going to support the cleaning of Pokhara's lake and job creation. An agreement has been reached between Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality and Lakshmi Group Foundation regarding the environment and environment protection along with the cleanliness of lakes in the metropolitan area and job creation.

According to Shrestha, the president of Lakshmi Group, the project will be carried out in a coordinated manner in the areas of cleaning the lakes in the metropolitan area and managing weeds including water plants, handicraft production and skill development from water plants, internship and training for students of Gandaki Multi-Technical School run by the city, distribution of induction stoves to poor households and improvement of electrical infrastructure in coordination with the Nepal Electricity Authority. "This project is expected to add a new dimension to Pokhara's environmental protection, tourism development and economic empowerment of the local community," he said. According to the

agreement, Lakshmi Group will manage the necessary financial resources, equipment, technicians, expert consultants, manpower, etc. for the introduction of state-of-the-art technology from the country and abroad, for lake cleaning and water treatment. 300 people will be trained and trained for the production and processing of handicraft materials from watercress. The group will distribute electric stoves and rent to one thousand poor families in the metropolis. The

project will be operated for five years including a trial period of six months from the date of the agreement. Executive Director of Lakshmi Group Niranjan Shrestha said that technical quality will be ensured in the implementation of the project as per the prescribed standards. The Metropolitan Municipality will monitor and evaluate the technical quality. Acharya, the head of the metropolis, said that the project is going to be conducted to contribute to the sustainable protection of the lake, environmental balance, tourism industry and the economic empowerment of the local community by contributing to vocational training and creating employment opportunities.

 'In the first phase, the pilot project will be started from a small lake and will be evaluated within 6 months and based on its effectiveness, the project will be gradually expanded to other lakes including Fewa Lake,' he said.
