Dordi Rural Municipality of Lamjung has constructed 4 Dharamshalas on the 'Buddha Himal-Himalchuli Great Lakes Trail' identified in the high area. According to the rural municipality, Dharamshalas have been built targeting the tourists who come on footpaths, the pilgrims of Taltalaiya in the higher areas and those who want to enjoy the natural beauty.
Village Chairman Yuvraj Adhikari said that Dharamshalas were built because tourists need accommodation in the higher areas of the footpath. Along with Dharamshala, the rural municipality has also managed water.
According to him, the rural municipality has spent Rs. One and a half hundred people can fit in it. Tamu Kalyan Youth Club of Dordi Rural Municipality 8, Khinchok has also constructed a Dharamshala in Meme Pond. About 80 people fit in it.
9 lakh rupees have been invested in the Dharamshala of Kromro Danda (4,000 m.). It can accommodate 100 people. Dharamshala has been constructed at Molomche (3,500 m.) at a cost of 9 lakhs. About 80 people fit in it. A Dharamshala has been constructed at Lipe (3,105 m.) at a cost of 7 lakh rupees. About 40 people fit in it.
Rural Municipality has prepared to build a Dharamshala in Notache (3,500 m.) in the current financial year. There are old barns here now. Earlier, various individuals and groups have built Dharamshala in Bahrapokhari (3,080 m.). Lately, her mother Bhimkumari Ghale and her family have built a Dharamshala in memory of Lilima Ghale, who owns 7 houses in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality, Usta Mait and 10 in Benisahar Municipality.
Dharamshala is like a building, where people living near the lake live. There is a tradition of making Dharamshala for religion. We did the same," said the village head official. You can visit this trail from Beisanhar Municipality, Marsyangdi Rural Municipality and Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality of Lamjung. Similarly, you can also come and go from Gorkha. Starting from Dordi rural municipality center Nauthar Shera, the first day is Jorne, the second day is Lipe, the third day is Notache, the fourth day is Mlomche, the fifth day is Ukhand, the sixth day is Meme Pokhari, the seventh day is Komro Danda, the eighth day is Bahrpokhari, and the ninth day is Hilletaksar. From Bahrapokhari, you can also go to the destination via Marsyangdi rural municipality or Beisanhar municipality or Dordi rural municipality. There are human settlements in Jorne and Hilletaksar along this path. There is already a Dharamshala in Ukhand.
Fairs are held in the footpaths of this area, especially on Janai Purnima and Baisakh Purnima. Pilgrims from outside the district come to the fair here. "The Dharamshala built by us has provided convenience to the tourists," said Vichcha Bahadur Ghale, the vice president of the rural municipality.
While looking for an alternative to the circular Annapurna trail, the 'Buddha Himal-Himalchuli Great Lake Trail' was identified. There are other trails including 'Lippe Lake' which can be completed in 3-4 days. These footpaths can be traveled from both sides, the head of the rural municipality said.
From these footpaths, you can see beautiful views of the mountains in the east, west and north directions. You can see the mountains like Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, Himalchuli, Manaslu, Ganesh etc. in front of your eyes. Even Shivpuri in Kathmandu can be seen when the weather is clear.
Taking Nauthar Shera as the zero point, one can reach Dordi from Kathmandu-Pokhara via Dumre in Tanahun after entering Lamjung from Bhoteodar through Archalboat. Nauthar Shera can be reached from Benisahar via Udipur. As the transportation reaches the rural areas of Dordi, this trail is suitable for those who want to walk for short and long distances, says the chairman officer of the village.
