With the aim of preserving art, culture and handing over the generations, the Taya: Macha dance competition will be held in Pokhara on July 31 under the initiative of Neva: Khal: Kaski and Neva: Khal: Shishuva.
The 26th edition of the Kaski district level competition, which is held at different places every year, will be held at Pokhara Metropolitan City-30 Shishuwa this year. Arjun Kumar Tamrakar, coordinator of the original organizing committee, said in a press conference held on Saturday that 35 teams will participate in the
competition. Separate Taya: Macha groups of women and men will compete in the
competition. The coordinator Tamrakar informed that the first group for men will receive Rs 111,111, the second will get Rs 77,777, the third will get Rs 55,555 and the fourth will get Rs 25,555. For women, the first, second, third and fourth placers will receive Rs 40,000, 30,000, 25,000 and 20,000 respectively. Teams participating in the competition will be given Rs 15,000 each as an incentive. Last year, 28 competitors and 2 participants and 30 teams participated in the
competition.
