To attract Pokhareli tourists, Marsyangdi rural municipality of Lamjung has reached Pokhara, the provincial capital. After reaching Pokhara, Marsyangdi discussed interaction with Pokhareli tourism businessmen.
Marsyangdi reached Pokhara on Thursday and interacted with the businessmen informing them about the possibilities, development, strategies and promotion measures of the tourism sector. The participants in the
program were of the opinion that Marsyangdi Rural Municipality of Lamjung has great potential from a tourist point of view and long-term planning, infrastructure development, awareness at the local level and inter-institutional cooperation are needed to establish it as a tourist destination.
The participants expressed their opinion that if Marsyangdi Rural Municipality's natural heritage, cultural diversity, mountain beauty and adventure tourism possibilities are developed in a systematic manner, this area can become an important tourist destination.
Village Chairman Arjun Gurung said that in the interaction and discussion held at Hotel Elegant located in Pokhara Metropolitan City-6, there was an important discussion to decide the blueprint for strategic partnership, publicity and future plans for tourism promotion. He told about the ease of the land route from Pokhara to Lamjung and asked the tourism businessmen of Pokhara to improve the environment for tourists to come to Lamjung and Lamjung to Marsyangdi Rural Municipality.
According to him, the rural municipality is building tourism infrastructure, has prepared a road map and has also put forward a plan to increase cooperation with the private sector by increasing publicity. In the
program, Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAN) Gandaki President Krishna Prasad Acharya, Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Natta) Gandaki President Kishore Dahal, Gurung Tourism Professionals Association (GTIN) Gandaki President Kisam Kumari Gurung and others promised that the Pokhreli tourism businessmen would give their best support in the promotion of Marsyangdi tourism.
There has been an increase in the number of domestic and foreign tourists coming to Marsyangdi Rural Municipality of Lamjung, which is located on the circular Annapurna trail. There are tourist homestays in Ghanpokhara, Siurung, Chapa-Mipra, Rock Garden, Bhushme, Dhagain and other villages here. There are tourist destinations such as Hamkhola Waterfall, Sayange Waterfall, Bung Chhahara, Harsing Danda on the circular Annapurna trail.
Gurung Tourism Business Association (GTIN) Gandaki Province Founder President Bobarjung Gurung said that the Gurung heritage route has been identified to promote tourism in the high areas of Kaski, Lamjung and Manang and Marsyangdi Rural Municipality can also benefit from it.
