The road which was closed since Monday night due to a landslide between Hawadanda and Jagatko in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-4 of Lamjung has been opened since Tuesday afternoon. The only Bensi Sahar-Chame road to the Himalayan district Manang Auzau was blocked due to landslides, vehicles and passengers could not move.
District Police Chief DSP Resham Bohra said that the road was completely blocked due to a landslide with large stones falling from above on Monday night.
Khushiram Gurung, a resident of Marsyangdi rural municipality-4, Jagat, said that even though the road was opened from 1 pm on Tuesday, there is still a possibility of landslides.
The road was blocked from 8:30 on Monday night due to the landslide. According to him, the landslide has also brought down the 33 KV electricity pole, 11 KV pole and internet pole. He said that the repair of fallen electricity poles and wires has been started.
