On Thursday, the police arrested his younger wife Ranjita Lamichhane on the charge of killing 49-year-old Khumanand Lamichhane of Walling Municipality-8 Cottage Namaltol. Khumanand died on 22 Baisakh 2080.
During the initial investigation by the police, it was revealed that Khumanand had consumed poison. After the activities of the younger wife became suspicious, the plainclothes police team from Ward Police Office Walling arrested Ranjita while she was hiding in the corner of Walling Bazar.
Ranjita was taken into custody for investigation after it came to light that she had poisoned her husband's food, SP Dadhiram Neupane informed. SP Neupane said that Lamichhane, who was arrested, was registered in the district court in Syangja in the case of duty-bound killing and the deadline was extended by 10 days.
