The Syangja road section of Sidwarth Highway has been blocked due to the landslide at Bhalupahad in Syangja.
Eyewitnesses have said that the landslide started at 4 o'clock in the morning on Thursday. Bishnu Paudel of the local Andhikhola rural municipality-3 Bichharichautara said that before this, when red soil was poured to fill the potholes, it was difficult to travel due to mud and dust.
Due to the increased traffic from Pokhara and Syangja Bazaar, many passengers are now stranded. Even though the police said that the JCB had been sent to divert the road, eyewitness Paudel said that they had not come yet.
Syangja police chief Dadhiram Neupane informed that he has contacted the road division Pokhara to immediately open the road even if the vehicle is one-way and keep gravel in the afternoon.
