According to Bhesraj Rizal, head of the office of co-operative registrar Pokhara, the board of directors of the co-operative had invested 2.5 million in loans to Indian citizens as well.
The office of the cooperative is located at Manang Chowtari Chowk in Bensi Sahar. Similarly, there is a liaison office in Bhoteodar and Chiti. It has also been revealed that the board of directors made fake borrowers and invested in loans. Rizal informed that the co-operative has sunk because the officials and members themselves have not paid the loan taken by taking a bad mortgage. The cooperative office completed the investigation on October 29, 2018.
The report issued by the financial analyst Nirmal Gautam by the cooperative office has determined that 65.4 million has been embezzled.
The registrar's office submitted a report of co-operative fraud to the district police office on June 19. 17 days later, the police registered a case on July 4. Cooperative Division Office has informed that the investigation was started after Rishi Adhikari, who was the president of the organization three years ago, filed an application and asked for an investigation.
It has been pointed out in the investigation report that funds were embezzled in the collusion of Santosh Basnet, former president Padam Raut, Hariprasad Paudel, Kishore Basnet and others. Chairman Rishi Adhikari said that before his arrival, the cooperative organization had problems, and he filed a written complaint with the Divisional Cooperative Office for investigation last October. 'It was 3 years ago when I came . Not even a single rupee has been invested since I came,' claims the official.
During the term of the then presidents Shiv Joshi, Hari Poudel, Padam Raut, the official claimed that there was a problem in the organization due to the non-recovery of the amount invested. During the tenure of the then presidents Padam Raut, Shiv Joshi, it was instructed to 'pay the invested amount to the Indian citizens and withdraw the amount after rising from there' . Both have paid 750,000 by the end of June.
