The issue of taking action against Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Balram Adhikari, who is accused of accepting a bribe of 32 lakh rupees through his son, according to the plan to give 134 ropani land in Batulechaur of Pokhara to the land mafia, has been raised in the district meeting of UML Kaski.
While speaking at the meeting held on Saturday, party central member and district in-charge Krishna Bahadur Thapa and district president Bain Bahadur Adhikari Chhetri together with the middleman demanded that the person who defames the party should be removed from the minister and action should be taken by the party. Both did not take the name of the minister. ``A person who defames the government and the party in collaboration with middlemen should resign. The issue has been raised that the party should also take action against such people,'' District Vice President Bheshraj Baral said, ``The matter came up while speaking. There was nothing more.'' In the
meeting, the speaker also raised the issue of action against Sujan Lama, a middleman affiliated to UML. Lama is currently a member of the advisory council of the UML state committee and the presiding officer said that if the relevant committee does not take action, the district will take action. He said that a verbal request will be made to the state committee once to take action against Lama.
Lama, who joined the party from Kaski, is a former member of the UML state committee. He was defeated as a member in the second state convention of October 2080. After this he was nominated to the advisory council.
The District Committee had recommended the names of Bain Bahadur Gurung, Keshav Acharya and Shobhamohan Paudel. In that, the provincial committee recommended adding the name of another leader, Deepak Paudel. Lama was active in lobbying that Pun's name should also be recommended as he is a member of the UML state committee.
is again the same leader who was the middleman in the plan to make a favorable decision by making him the chairman of the commission. He offered bribes to General Administration Minister Rajkumar Gupta and Land Management Minister Adhikari to make Pun himself the president.
