A 54-year-old Khum Kumari tailor named Khuma of Putlibazar Municipality-13, who was absconding, has been arrested after the High Court of Pokhara sentenced her to imprisonment for three months on March 10, 2081 in the case of coercion.
District Police Chief Superintendent of Police Dadhiram Neupane informed that the tailor was arrested on Thursday morning by a plainclothes police team from District Police Office Syangja. According to the police, the tailor was brought to the district court in Syangja to pay the prison sentence. The incident is in February 2070.
According to SP Neupane, when Khuma took the girl to the district hospital for a health check-up, it was revealed that her husband Rameshwar had been raped by a Nepali. After the incident came out, Khuma tried to cover up the incident. During the discussion in the village, she said that she would take medicine and nurture her and took her to the hospital for examination .
SP Neupane says that after trying to hide the rape incident and settle it at home, the police also registered a case against the defendant Bani Khuma. District Court Syangja sentenced Khuma to 7 days and her husband Rameshwar to 18 years imprisonment on 16 Baisakh, 2081 . The husband is now in the district jail to serve his sentence. Mrs. Khuma served 7 days imprisonment.
Then on July 22, 2081, she registered a case in the High Court against the decision of the District Court. The High Court sentenced 3 months imprisonment . SP Neupan said that since Khuma had already served 7 days of imprisonment, he should reduce the 7 days and now serve 2 months and 23 days of imprisonment. As the
case is old, the police said that not many details have been mentioned about it. District police has launched a campaign to arrest fugitive defendants in order to make the execution of the judgments of various court cases swift, correct and effective and to complete judicial proceedings and ensure the creation of a safe and just society. Under the same operation, the tailor was arrested by the special operation team in plain clothes.
