The gate (entrance) of the district jail in Lamjung headquarter Bensi Sahar has been broken. The only gate on the west side of the prison for prisoners and detainees to enter has been destroyed.

According to prison administrator Beni Bahadur Muktan, the gate along with the wall collapsed around 5:00 pm on Wednesday when it was raining. According to him, about 3 meters of the wall has collapsed.

Although there are 35 capacity prisons with 10 women and 25 men, there are thirteen more prisoners and detainees in the district jail. There are currently 118 prisoners and detainees including 6 women in the prison.

According to Chief District Officer Madhav Prasad Pokharel, the dilapidated wall collapsed due to heavy rain. He said that the building was dilapidated and there was a problem with the walls. In the past years, the walls of the prison were also collapsing. 'The prison is dilapidated . Efforts are being made to build a building,' he said.

Nepal Police and Armed Police have been mobilized more after the wall collapse, the administration said. According to the administration, the Nepali Army is also being coordinated for the security of the prison.

In 2028, when the headquarters was moved from Kuncha to Bensi, this prison has not been completely renovated.
