This year, 16 signal poles (marking poles) have been added from Samdo to Larke Top under the Manaslu footpath targeting tourists who pass Larke. Santosh Serchan, head of Manaslu Conservation Area (MCAP), said that marking poles have been added to make it easier to find the way when snowfall covers the footpath during winter.
Earlier, there were 108 marking poles in the Larkepass area. He said that this year only marking poles have been added in the area from Larke Bazar to Larke Top. ``We have added marking poles in the area where it was thin before,'' he said. "The location of the pole will tell you how much snow has frozen, so the risk situation will also be understood," he said. With the help of marking poles, it is expected that it will be easy for tourists to reach their destination during snowfall.
Similarly, MCAP has also added 35 signposts in the Manaslu area this year. A signpost has been placed in Chum Valley, Nubri Valley under Chumanuvri Rural Municipality. Similarly, for the first time, signposts have been placed at Gumlalungda and Ganesh Himal base camps.
