A diversion has been made at the Udipur Andherikhola landslide in Bensisahar Municipality-1 under the Bensisahar-Dumre road connecting Manang with Lamjung.

Chief District Officer Madhav Prasad Pokharel said that the diversion was arranged after the landslide started to wash away the road in Andherikhola since Monday night. According to him, the alternative road was repaired till Tuesday evening after the landslide started to wash away the road from Monday night.

According to him, the alternative road under the Chandi Prasad Gan Udipur Barrack of the Nepali Army has been repaired and brought into operation. The alternative road is open from 5 am to 10 pm. Vehicles have started moving through this road since Wednesday morning.

District Police Chief DSP Resham Bohra informed that the operation of all vehicles, except for essential ones, has been banned on alternative roads from 10 pm to 5 am.

Chief District Officer Pokharel informed that the gabion wall has been raised at the place of the landslide and the main road will be operational again after it is completed in the next 2-3 days. In the past years also, when there was a landslide in the Udipur hills, an alternative road through the Nepali army barracks was brought into use.
