8 sewing machines are kept inside a small shop in the inner lane of the district headquarters. 37-year-old Lakshmi Shrestha works by operating different machines as per requirement.

She is the only worker in the shop . Instead, every day 10/15 women come to her shop to learn sewing . She has not invited more people because it is not possible to teach many people to work in a rented roof printing house. She has set an example of success by working herself for 12/14 hours daily.

The story of Shrestha's hard work and courage is unique. With that courage, she has succeeded in becoming a businessman from a zero situation. While reading

, Shrestha reached Nepalgunj after intercaste marriage. In connection with her husband's small job, they returned to Baglung again. After the birth of two children, the husband fell ill suddenly. Had to undergo treatment for 5 years . After not being able to work, the husband has no job in the private sector . Having to spend on continuous treatment and losing the job, the financial situation became weak . In 2070, she suffered a lot. Seeking a loan and getting treatment. Shrestha began to suffer from the challenges of living and educating two sons. She started looking for ways to become self-employed by learning skills.

Since Lakshmi from the Newar community was married to a young man from the Chhetri community, there was no way but to struggle and become self-sufficient because there was no such good relationship at home and in the family. After finding a loan, she took 6 months sewing training. From that she decided to buy a machine and sew. After not having the money to buy the machine, she also worked as a market representative of the cooperative for some time . She bought a sewing machine from the money she got from that job. After that, she quit her job with a month's notice in the cooperative.

Lakshmi had to earn money by sewing, pay the debt when her husband fell ill, and educate her sons. Since there was no one to ask for loans and help, he started earning after working hard alone. As she could not make a profit by renting expensive shutters in the market, she shifted her camp to the inner lane . After working for 12 to 14 hours a day, he saved some money and finally got the courage. Many people started trusting Lakshmi after reaching the market and taking orders and sewing the clothes at the appointed time.

After having to sew fashion clothes according to time, a machine stopped reaching . She tried to make more machines. At that time, local social leader KB Ranamar helped with the loan. Through Dhaulagiri Integrated Rural Development Center (DIRDC) run by Rana, Lakshmi was given seed capital of Rs 5 lakh without collateral to buy a machine and grow the business. She paid that loan in installments . Ranamar called him for further training . After the training there, in 2075, Lakshmi passed the label 1 examination of Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).

She also registered the business at the Municipal and Home Industry Office. After that, she started to grow the business by buying different machines and materials as per her needs. Lakshmi now has 1 interlock machine, 1 pico machine and 6 different types of machines and has developed the business . Even now, his shop is not visible.

She lives in an inner street in Ramrekha of Baglung Municipality-1. Now calling him to place an order and looking for a shop, customers reach the shop . If there is a new type of machine, he likes to buy it . "I think that my machine is God, that's why I didn't sell the one from 15 years ago, I'm using the modern one," she said, "I'm not going to sell the machine that introduced me, I'm going to use it."

Now Lakshmi teaches sewing to many sisters . DIRDC also calls Lakshmi as a trainer. She also reaches there by arranging time .

Now Lakshmi is able to earn more than 50 thousand rupees per month by cutting household expenses . She said that she dreamed of prosperity through sewing. "I have managed the household expenses by educating my sons, I have also been able to earn 40/50 thousand per month," she said, "If you can work hard, you can overcome suffering." Now her husband Bhimsen GC has also recovered after defeating the disease.

She used to be disappointed when many friends of her age flew abroad. She said that now she has better earnings and reputation than those living abroad. She said that many young people have mental problems when they become unemployed again due to the incidents abroad and the lack of skills after their return. "There is confusion about what to do after returning from abroad," said Lakshmi, "I have become a skill and a profession for the rest of my life".
