Sanitation has been carried out under the Annapurna cycle path, which is considered to be the most dangerous in the world. Sanitation has been done in the area where the world's 10th most dangerous footpath has been introduced.
Dhak Bahadur Bhujel, head of Annapurna Conservation Area Project Office, Manang, informed that non-biodegradable garbage was collected from Tanki Manang in Upper Manang to Thorangla Bhanjyang (pass) under this footpath. According to him, non-perishable waste has been collected and managed.
He said, "Since this trail is world-famous, the arrival of most of the foreign tourists is high. However, there is a danger of becoming smelly due to the large amount of non-biodegradable waste. Even if non-biodegradable waste is taken, there is a provision to bring it with you. However, it has not been used." He says that the garbage that does not get destroyed for years has also affected the climate change.
According to Tourism Management Sub-Committee Tanki Manang, 65 sacks of garbage were collected and managed during cleaning in that area. Since there is less tourist arrival in the off-season, the cleaning is done in a joint project of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project Area Office and the Tourism Management Sub-Committee of Tanki Manang.
