About 1,200 vehicles crossed the road section under the Mahendra Highway on Wednesday after removing the vehicles stuck in the mud due to rain. According to the police, 400 freight trucks and 800 other vehicles, which were stopped near Bardghat in West Nawalparasi for nine days, went to Narayangadh on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, after the highway was covered by the sun, the vehicles stuck there were pulled out. After that, the highway was opened in one direction, so the traffic was cut off, the police said. Small vehicles, buses, ambulances and motorcycles going from West to East Narayangadh in Downe are crossing on Wednesday. On Tuesday and Wednesday it did not rain, so it was easy to get down.
The police are stopping the long vehicles going from Narayangadh to Butwal. Due to the lack of diversion in Dumkibas, the police have stopped trucks and llamas at Harakpur, Rajhar, Pragatinar, Chormara and Arunkhola in Gaindakot. Small cars and buses are operating through Honsi Gate of Mahendra Highway and again through Dumkibas of Mahendra Highway from winter.
