After the collapse of the bridge at Dumkibas under the Narayangadh-Butwal road section, the alternative road that was being used has also been blocked.
Vinayi Triveni Rural Municipality-3 of East Nawalparasi, due to flooding in Kharnge river, the movement of vehicles has come to a standstill. The diversion operating in Binayi River on the east-west highway was also washed away after the water flow increased and small and medium (12 wheeler) vehicles were running through an alternative route. Madhu Nepal, DSP of the District Police Office, said that the internal road was being operated from Jamire via Hongsi Gate, Sardi, and the alternative road was also blocked.
The road department has now stopped the movement of goods vehicles in the Dumkibas-Bardghat section and has prohibited all types of vehicles at night.
Even in normal rains, the road becomes slippery in Daunne and after the diversion of Vinayi Khola, traffic has been blocked on this road section.
