Galkot Municipality has prioritized the health of citizens in its policies and budget. The health sector has also been prioritized in the budget.

In the policy and program introduced by city chief Bharat Sharma Gayre, expansion of hemodialysis services to kidney patients in the city hospital, free treatment of chronic diseases including heart disease and heart attack prevention program will be conducted. Based on the same policy, Deputy Chief Famlal Niure has allocated a budget of 1 crore to the city hospital.

It is mentioned in the policy that Galkot, which is currently operating only a 10-bed hospital, will build a 15-bed hospital next year and provide free treatment for the poor. In the policy, it is mentioned that the deputy chief will also implement the thrombolysis (heart attack prevention) program. In the budget of 717.4 million, only 53.37 million budget has been allocated to the health sector. 

City-level destitute citizen treatment fund is also going to be put into operation. Economically disadvantaged families will also get specialized services free of charge. It is mentioned that the city will pay the amount from the same fund.  Arrangements have been made to make all health institutions in the city paperless, including the city hospital, and keep records through digital method in all health posts, including community health units. 

city hospital will provide free screening and treatment services for chronic patients including kidney patients and heart patients. There is a provision to give a lump sum incentive allowance of Rs. By adding 2,000 to the government of Nepal, the municipality has given 6,600 rupees. It is also mentioned in the policy to print and distribute health card through family health profile.
