Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality has brought a budget of 8 billion 35 million 12 million rupees for the next financial year 2082-83.
Deputy Chief Manjudevi Gurung presented a budget of 538 million rupees more than the current financial year in the 17th Municipal Assembly on Sunday. The Metropolitan Corporation had brought a budget of 7 billion 81 crore 32 lakh 83 thousand rupees for the current financial year.
After Mayor Dhanraj Acharya went on a visit to China from Monday, policies and programs and budget were brought urgently on Sunday. Estimates of capital and current expenditure have not been presented in the budget for the next financial year. It has been announced through the budget that 2 more technical subjects will be added from next year in Gandaki Multi-Technical School, which is teaching 7 technical subjects. A budget of 1 crore 85 lakhs has been set aside to conduct the overall educational activities of the multi-technical school.
The policy of the metropolis is to reduce the trend of going abroad by motivating the youth to build the nation. Accordingly, 3.5 million budget has been allocated to conduct skill training and start-up programs to conduct youth targeted programs including entrepreneurship and income generation while increasing youth activity.
The Metropolitan Municipality has arranged a budget of 1.4 million for the medical examination during pregnancy to reduce the risk of cervical cancer, which is a major health problem in women, during pregnancy and childbirth. In order to reduce the outbreak of non-communicable diseases, the screening program has been continued to identify the disease in time and bring it into the scope of treatment. For that purpose, a budget of 4.3 million has been allocated to screen all citizens above 40 years of age, to conduct a health service program targeting elderly, disabled, chronically ill, helpless and poor citizens. Deputy Chief Gurung said that 268 million has been allocated for the monthly medical expenses of the federal government subsidy for kidney transplant patients, dialysis patients, cancer patients and spinal cord paralysis patients.
1 billion budget has been allocated to build the infrastructure of ward offices in accordance with the policy of balanced development of all wards. A budget of 150 crores has been allocated for urban road asphalt and concrete. A plan to link the details of all taxpayers within the metropolis to the digital system has been announced. It has been announced that the tax payer will be able to pay tax/revenue through mobile app while staying at home.
