About 1,800 vehicles stuck in Downe for 6 days have been sent to their destination. The removal of vehicles stuck in Downne has been started since Friday.

All the vehicles stuck in the jam were taken out and sent to their destination after the maintenance work was carried out to lay gravel on the muddy and potholed road.

According to Yadav Dhakal, Superintendent of Police of East Nawalparasi, the highway construction contractor had to vacate the road to repair the road in Daunne. The road had to be cleared to fix the road by putting gravel there. From Bardghat on the south side to Dumkibas Bazar and Hongsi Cement Factory Gate on the east side, the vehicles  It was removed after two days. Dhakal informed that the stranded vehicles were parked in a line and many were sent to their destinations.

Down road has been blocked for the past 6 days after a vehicle got stuck due to mud near Vishwakarma temple, which is 4 km west of Dumkibas market. Long cargo trucks are equally prone to getting stuck in mud and slipping. As it happens during normal rains, the vehicle cannot climb the hilly place. In that place, the police cleared the road to fix the road by adding gravel.

On Sunday, 40 policemen have been deployed to regulate the traffic on the road. The police said that efforts are being made to divert the Indian truck carrying 40 goods stuck in Downe and Dumkibas towards Bardghat.

30 tipper gravels have been placed on Downne Road by 5pm on Sunday . The planning directorate informed that about 500 tipper gravels are needed there . After placing 500 tipper gravel, it is estimated that it will be easy for vehicles to move in the valley. During normal rains, the highway is blocked due to vehicles getting stuck on the steep and muddy roads of Daunne.

The 14 km area between Dumkibas in East Nawalparasi and Bardghat in West Nawalparasi under the Mahendra Rajmarg is located in the lower hills. Because the contractor left the pitch to build a highway there, the road becomes slippery when the sun shines and when it rains, it becomes slippery .
