The Gandaki state government is ready to give full tax exemption to the family members of martyrs and missing persons of 'Jan Yuddh' in real estate transactions.

The government is ready to amend the provisions of the bill made to implement the proposal related to the economy after the Maoists protested the proposed reduction of tax exemptions and blocked the parliament on Friday.

The government is going to give tax exemption to the families of people's war victims by using the word "armed struggle" instead of the word "people's war". Addressing the Parliament meeting on Friday, Minister of Economic Affairs Dr. Takaraj Gurung said that in serial number 8 of Section 'D' of Schedule 1 of the Economic Bill 2082, the subject will be included that 'all types of fees charged in accordance with this schedule will be completely exempted in the document passed in the name of dependent spouses, sons and daughters and parents of martyrs who have been martyred in the people's movement, armed struggle, Madhesh movement and tribal/tribal movement.

Minister Gurung did not mention the word 'people's war' in the bill to implement the financial proposal presented to the parliament for the next fiscal year 2082/83. Due to the fact that the word Janyudh was removed from the bill, the tax exemption that the victims' families were getting related to real estate transactions was cut off. In the financial law of the current financial year and the previous years, the tax exemptions received by the families of people's war victims were not deducted. In the bill for the next fiscal year, only the word "people's war" was cut.

In December last year, the Supreme Court ordered not to use the word "people's war" in the language of government work. The Supreme Court had asked not to use the word 'people's struggle' as the word 'armed struggle' is being used in the constitution. For this reason, the state government did not use the word people's war in policies and programs, budgets and economic bills. The Maoist MPs protested at the beginning of Friday's meeting. After the opposition obstructed the parliament, the government is ready to use the term armed struggle to give tax exemptions to the people's war victims.

Family members of civil war victims have been getting a full discount on real estate registration and service fees from the Malpot Office if they show the identity card issued by the government or a letter of recommendation from the current local level with the permanent address of the owner.
