Free food for stranded travelers at Dumkiwas

Since last night, the locals have given free food to many passengers who were stranded by Binayi River in Dumkibas under Mahendra Highway since last night. When the highway was blocked, passengers traveling east-west on the Mahendra Highway were stranded in Dumkiwas.

Local journalist Vishnu Goudel said that the locals provided free food to the stranded passengers by gathering voluntary help. The locals gave rice, lentils and vegetables to feed the stranded passengers. Local Sunil Khanal said that they will provide food until the road is restored. The local Ganesh Adhikari said that many long-distance passengers were stranded and some were starving due to lack of expenses.

Local Anil Pariyar said that Red Cross workers and hoteliers of Dumkiwas are also helping in this work.  He said that 2,000 passengers were served food till 11 am on Friday morning.
