Nepal Telecom Baglung Branch has extended 3G service to Syangta in Mustang. This village with only 15 houses is at an altitude of 4,400 meters. It was difficult to make telephone contact here until now.

There are only 45 voters in this village of Baragung Muktikshetra rural municipality-2. Senior Engineer Santosh Baral, head of Nepal Telecom, Baglung, said that the 3G service has been expanded for the time being after settling the new village, keeping in mind the demand of the locals. He also told the plan to expand more services as the settlement can expand as the road to Dolpa is being built through this village.

Since there is no electricity service in this settlement yet, the service has been brought into operation by electrifying the tower from solar. Even the roads of this village run only 7 months a year. After 5 months of snow, it is impossible to travel even people do not stay. Power has been brought here by placing a repeater from Ghiula Danda. Earlier, the people here were not even able to make a normal telephone.

Similarly, 2G and 4G services have been extended in Lulang of Dhawalagiri rural municipality-2 in Myagdi. Earlier, after 4G was launched in Gurja, the remaining equipment of the BTS tower was taken to Lulang and installed. The BTS tower has been put into operation here targeting Khorio, Mun, Lamsung, Lulang, Mareni and Jaljala areas. Previously, there was only a BTS tower in Mudi, but the locals had been demanding it many times since it was not built. Now the locals will also get services for phone and internet. Here, the Nepal Electricity Authority has also extended the central transmission line. This service has come into operation after the extension of the line.

By donating labor, the locals have also built a house to store equipment in Syangta in Mustang and Lulang in Myagdi. Baral informed that with the expansion of this service, 154 towers with 2G operation, 129 towers with 3G operation and 130 towers with 4G operation have been reached in Dhaulagiri area.

Apart from this, the service is also operating in some places through sector extension. There are 6 sector extensions in Baglung, 6 in Mustang and 5 in Myagdi.
