Palungtar municipality has adopted the policy of implementing the land bank concept and starting the process of bringing the barren land into use through the land bank.

On Tuesday, Mayor Vivash Chintan presented the policy and program for the next financial year 2082/083 in the 17th Municipal Assembly and said that the use of land in the agricultural sector will be encouraged to increase production and productivity. Chintan said that 25 percent land tax penalty will be levied on land owners who do not provide land to Bhoomi Bank but keep the land fallow for more than 3 years. He also said that extortion tax will be levied on public and government land and structures built on that land.

The municipality has also taken a policy to establish a 'Senior Citizen Club' in every ward under the program 'Ahileka Yuva Saeng Uhileka Kura' to connect the knowledge, skills and experience of senior citizens with the new generation. It is also mentioned in the policy and program to promote the greenery on the right-hand side of the road and to develop it as a green city.

Palungtar Municipality has taken a policy to emphasize the commercial production of crops such as rice, millet, maize, soybean, sesame and other crops through the 'People's Welfare Farmer Fund'. He also said that the policy of 'forest monkeys in the forest' has been continued this year as well.

Chintan also said that they have taken a policy to arrange free corpse vehicles for the disposal of dead bodies, to make the municipality plastic-free, and to prohibit the use of plastic bags and food in the municipal office and all agencies under it.
