Due to the rain since last night, the road section under East West Mahendra Highway has been blocked.

The vehicles traveling to Bardghat via Dumbibas stopped at Downe from 12:30 on Monday night.

The highway has been blocked due to the shaking of the road under construction and cargo vehicles cannot pass through it. The contractor company China State Engineering Corporation has delayed the work on the highway.

Passengers say that it took more than 4 hours to cross the 3 km road from Dumkibas to Paschim Vishwakarma Temple.

Diversion washed away

According to the District Police Office, the diversion created in Vinayi Khola due to heavy rains around Palpa and Vinayi rivers was washed away at 6:50 on Tuesday morning. The gravel road left and right of the culvert has been washed away and the traffic has come to a standstill.

The police said that the small and passenger buses were driven through the Hongsi cement block. Big and cargo vehicles are stopped on the highway.
