The police have arrested 19-year-old Jifran Thapa Magar of Shahid Lakhan rural municipality-2 on the charge of electrical offence. According to the police, it was revealed that he had made the video by making a video call to his ex-girlfriend and made her believe him to perform obscene acts by saving the mobile screen record.
The police arrested Thapa on the charge of character assassination by publishing the video like other friends through social media. DSP Indra Prasad Subedi of District Police Office Gorkha has said that the accused has been arrested on the basis of the complaint/application of character assassination and insulting the victim and the investigation is being carried out with an extension permission from the District Court Gorkha.
The police also said that the offense is prohibited by the 'Electronic (Electronic) Transactions Act, 2063'.
