Municipality chief Anandraj Tripathi, deputy chief Uma Gotame and chief administrative officer Gautam Bhandari jointly honored the farmers with cash, certificates and double-clothes. Mayor Tripathi said that the farmers were honored for increasing the interest in agriculture and animal husbandry by encouraging them. He said, 'Even though Nepal is an agricultural country, the domestic production is not able to meet the daily needs, so the purpose of the award is to motivate the farmers and help the country become self-sufficient.' He said that such honors will help farmers to be proud of their profession.
