After 6,650 children within 23 months of birth received all the necessary vaccinations, Baglung district was declared as a district with full vaccination coverage on Friday. 3,552 children in the age group of 15 months from birth have received all vaccinations according to their age.
Apart from that, 3 thousand 98 children from 16 to 23 months have also completed the necessary vaccinations, so it has been declared that complete vaccination has been ensured and sustained.
Health Minister of Gandaki State Government Krishna Prasad Pathak declared the district as a district with full immunization coverage and sustainability. Along with Minister Pathak, Health Secretary Bishwabandhu Bagale also presented the certificate of sustainability to the District Vaccination Coordinating Committee.
For a month, under the leadership of Provincial Health Office, Baglung, work was being done to ensure complete vaccination and sustainability in all municipalities. For that, health workers, women volunteers and all the employees of the health branch from the people's representatives of the municipality participated in door-to-door campaign. According to Bagale, Baglung is the third fully vaccinated district in Gandaki province.
Health Minister Pathak said that this vaccination campaign is of great importance for the health of mothers and children. Minister Pathak said, "With the completion of the vaccination campaign, every hospital should also have doctors and health workers according to the number of posts. By building a hospital with all the equipment and services, the complete health of the citizens will be guaranteed." In addition, he said that quality health services will be provided to health workers working in remote areas, even if the incentive allowance is increased.
There is a provision to declare full vaccination coverage only after reaching the amount of 13 types of vaccines against BCG, measles, hepatitis, Japanese encephalitis, rubella, diarrhea, polio, typhoid and other diseases that should be received after birth. According to Ghanshyam Sapkota, head of Health Office Baglung, 663 people aged 15 months and 449 people aged 16 to 25 months have been vaccinated in Baglung municipality. Similarly, 754 people and 1 thousand 62 children have been vaccinated in Galkot Municipality, while 539 children in Jaimini Municipality have received vaccination.
193 children in Tarakhola Rural Municipality, 645 in Bareng Rural Municipality, 277 in Tamankhola Rural Municipality, 434 in Kathekhola Rural Municipality, 828 in Nisikhola Rural Municipality and 795 in Badigad Rural Municipality have received complete vaccination. The tuberculosis inspector of the office Devprakash Ghimire informed that the work of searching for complete vaccination has been going on since January 1st.
