Ambukhaireni Rural Municipality has given a two-day holiday to schools within the rural municipality due to extreme heat. Shukar Chuman, chairman of the rural municipality, said that the leave was given because it was seen that due to the heat that has been rising for a few days, people's lives are being affected and children's education and health may also be directly affected.
He said that the community and institutional schools within the rural municipality were given holidays on May 29 and 30. Also, the village council has requested the parents to take necessary precautions not to allow their children to walk in the sun during the day, to swim in the river pond, or to engage in fishing activities.
There are 32 schools including 24 community and 8 institutional schools in 6 wards of Ambukhaireni rural municipality. About 7,167 students are studying in that school.
