On February 8, 71-year-old Girraj Pant, a resident of Gandaki rural municipality-2, was going to Laxmibazar from Harmatari in Gorkha headquarters, and one lakh rupees was stolen. After the cash inside the bag was stolen, he lodged a complaint with the police.

Similarly, 82-year-old Ganga Bahadur Shrestha of Gorkha Municipality-6 Harmatari was returning home after receiving his pension on 7th May. Shrestha, who was returning home after receiving his pension from Gorkha-9 Lakshmi Bazar, had two lakh rupees in cash stolen during his journey in the bus. He could not find the sheep until the cash was stolen. After getting off the bus, he realized that the cash was stolen. Not only Shrestha and Panta, Chok Bahadur Thapa Magar of Shaheed Lakhan Rural Municipality-5 who was returning after receiving his pension on June 11th was also robbed of 50,000 cash in the bus. 

The police have arrested three gangs during a series of thefts. The police have arrested 49-year-old Deepak Pariyar, 49-year-old resident of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-4 and currently resident of Chitwan Ratnanagar Municipality-11 Sitaltol, 35-year-old Ashiq Bhujel and 43-year-old Dannarayan Shrestha, resident of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-4 and resident of Chitwan Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality-2 Kshetrapur. DSP Indra Prasad Subedi of District Police Office Gorkha said that it has come to light that they steal cash in an organized manner. 

After studying and analyzing various technologies, those involved in stealing were arrested, he said. Some cash was also recovered from them. The police also said that an investigation is being carried out against them in the district court of Gorkha in the crime case related to theft with an extension of time.
