Myagde rural municipality of the district has distributed goats to single women as a subsidy. Goats have been distributed with a 75% subsidy with the aim of connecting single women in the village to income generation.

Narayan Prasad Adhikari, chief administrative officer of the rural municipality, said that goats were distributed to 28 women from 7 wards within the rural municipality. "There are about 452 single women in the village," he said. The rural municipality has allocated a budget of around 3 lakh rupees for the program of distributing goats to single women.

Mr. Prasad Shrestha, Chairman of the Rural Municipality, said that the goat distribution program was introduced to empower single women financially. He said, 'We have encouraged single women towards goat rearing with the aim of connecting them to income generation. This will help them in income and livelihood.'
