The east-west highway has come to a standstill due to the diversion of Binayi Khola at Dumkiwas. According to Yadav Dhakal, Chief of District Police Office Nawalparasi East, the diversion road was swept away by the flood after the rain that fell on Friday afternoon.
Five months ago, the iron bridge of Binayi river was broken when an overloaded cargo truck was moving. After that, traffic was being operated by building a diversion road from the highway where the bridge is located. The diversion that was washed away last week was constructed and operated again. However, within 6 days, the diversion was carried out again.
The police have informed that arrangements will be made to send small and passenger vehicles through the road to Hongsi Cement located a little east from Dumkiwas. "Now we are making arrangements to send small vehicles to Daundevi Oil Stores via Hongsi Gate, Sardi, and the work has already started," Police Chief Dhakal said.
