The municipality of Baglung has not been able to meet the revenue collection target set by itself. Baglung Municipality of the headquarters has collected the lowest revenue. In the current financial year, the target is to collect 207 million rupees, but only 52 million rupees have been collected till Baisakh. This amount is only 26 percent of the target.

Amar Bahadur Thapa, head of District Coordination Committee, said that the municipality was weak in revenue collection in the meeting of the 4th District Assembly.

Jaimini municipality has collected only 5.7 million rupees while aiming to collect 1.36 million rupees. Badigad Rural Municipality had set a target of 16 million, but 78 lakh and Tamankhola Rural Municipality had set a target of 3.6 lakh, but collected only 2.5 lakh, i.e. 65 percent.

Dhorpatan Municipality has set a target of collecting 21.1 million, but 12.8 million i.e. 61 percent, Bareng Rural Municipality has collected only 2.3 million of the target of 40 million. Galkot Municipality has set a target of 21.1 million but has managed to collect only 1.32 million. Kathekhola rural municipality has collected 6.2 million against the target of collecting 7.7 million. Which is 81 percent. Only Tarakhola Rural Municipality and Nisikhola Rural Municipality have collected revenue as per target.

Tarakhola has made 159 percent progress by collecting 16.6 million rupees while setting a target of 6.7 million rupees. Nisikhola rural municipality has collected 11 percent revenue by raising 53 lakh rupees by the end of April against the target of 52 lakh 50 thousand rupees.

The heads of the municipality say that due to the inability to increase revenue, they are unable to spend on some essential works. Baglung Municipality Chief Vasant Kumar Shrestha said, "Since the revenue could not be collected as per the target, the road in front of the municipality could not be repaired." The municipality has said that it will increase the revenue in the next financial year. After the development work stalled, the Assembly has decided to take initiatives to collect revenue as per the target for the coming year.

Thapa said that the assembly has decided to start the work of increasing the internal income. The assembly decided to increase the income after the work as per the plan was not completed due to low progress in the internal income. It has been decided to extract and sell river materials, pay attention to the production and marketing of mineral products, increase collection by maintaining consistency in consumer consumption tax, determine minimum fees in religious tourism areas, legalize illegal businesses and register them at the municipal level.

Apart from that, the committee has also decided to take the lead in settling the border disputes in Baglung-Rukum, Baglung-Magdi and Baglung-Gulmi sections. The meeting held on Wednesday decided to increase the monitoring of arbitrary fare collection in public transport, to remove the delay in strategic roads and take initiatives to complete the work quickly, and to take initiatives to start the hydropower project with Uttarganga reservoir immediately. Coordinating officer Krishnaraj Gautam said about the decision of the meeting.
