Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has reached Narchang, Annapurna Rural Municipality-4 of Myagdi to participate in the program organized on the occasion of the 75th year of climbing Annapurna. On June 3, 1950, Maurice Herzog of France first climbed the 8,091-meter high Annapurna mountain.
Annapurna is called Jheto Himal because the first human stepped on a mountain higher than 8000 meters. Everest was successfully climbed only three years after climbing Annapurna. Lok Bahadur Pun, Ward President of Annapurna-4, said that the Annapurna Climbing Day is going to be celebrated as a reminder of the day that started the development of tourism and mountain climbing and made the mountain known to the world.
In the Diamond Festival, the Prime Minister has a program to unveil the footpath, open museum and the annual unveiling of climbers at the Annapurna base camp . The Annapurna Climbing Festival, which started on May 17th, is scheduled to end in Pokhara on May 22nd.
