District Court Kaski has asked Mayor Dev Kumar Nepali of Baglung's Dhorpatan Municipality for a bail of 20 lakhs in the Suryadarshan Savings and Credit Cooperative Society of Pokhara fraud case.

According to Damodar Acharya, information officer of District Court Kaski, the bench of Judge Krishnajung Shah has ordered to demand a bond of 20 lakhs from Mayor Nepali. The Nepalese were sent to Baglung prison after they failed to pay the bail. The court made this decision last Tuesday.

While he was the vice president of Suryadarshan Cooperative, it was found during the investigation that 77 lakh 50 thousand cash was illegally deposited in Nepali's account. The district attorney's office filed a lawsuit against the Nepalese for not returning the money they had taken in violation of the Cooperative Act.

After a financial dispute with GB Rai, the then president of Suryadarshan Cooperative, Nepali left Pokhara's Suryadarshan Cooperative. After that, Mayor Nepali formed separate Image Savings and Credit Cooperatives in Pokhara and Baglung, his workplace.

He became the mayor of Dhorpatan Municipality from UML. A case is going on against Nepali on charges of fraud against Image Savings and Credit Cooperative.

Nepalis have deceived the savers by defrauding 2 billion from two cooperatives in Pokhara and Baglung.

Mayor Nepali stayed in India for 16 months after being accused of co-operative fraud during the investigation. Nepal Police arrested him from New Delhi on October 11 and brought him to Nepal.
