Gorkha Municipality, which has declared 2025 as the year of tourism, has placed 'street numbers' in the city area for the convenience of tourists. Prakash Dhakal, engineer of Gorkha municipality, informed that 39 street numbers with QR code have been placed in the main square of the city area.
"In the first phase, we have placed 39 street numbers and 24 hoding boards at historical and touristic places," he said, "We have numbered the streets to make it easier for tourists coming to Gorkha to reach different areas of the municipality." A QR code is also placed on the street number placed in the main square.
'QR Coda has yet to be arranged,' he said, 'After scanning the QR code, it will be mentioned where another important place can be reached from that intersection, information about the touristic and historical places that can be reached from that intersection can also be found .' It is expected that the internal and external tourists coming to Gorkha will be able to get information about various tourist spots and reach easily with the
street number. 56 historical and touristic destinations have also been identified within Gorkha Nagar area. Hoding boards have been placed at 24 historical and touristic places. Dhakal said that there is also a QR code on the hoarding board. Themes of religious and historical importance are mentioned through
heading boards . "We have placed street numbers and heading boards according to the target program of the tourism year," he said.
Gorkha-Ambukhaireni road segment Gorkha Gate, Awumwa, Dashkilo, Ayurvedic Chowk, Rangshala Chowk, Harmatari Chowk, Old Bus Park and other areas have been numbered and street numbers have been placed. The municipality is preparing to have informational hoarding boards based on the needs in other areas where tourist destinations have been identified .
