There is a shortage of rabies vaccine in Gandaki province. This vaccine, which is administered especially after dog bites, has been in short supply for a month in the government health institutions of the district. Because of this, patients are forced to go to private health institutions and pay expensive fees to get vaccinated.
Vaccination has been done from 8 local level health centers including the district hospital. But due to the lack of vaccination, patients from remote areas have to go to health institutions as far as the headquarters and Chitwan.
