290 kg of plastic waste has been collected from the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) footpath. The garbage was collected in 5 days in accordance with the purpose of environmental protection in the joint project of Sri Krishna Dal Gana of Nepali Army and Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP).
From May 21 to 25, garbage was collected from the footpaths in Annapurna Rural Municipality-11 of Kaski. The cleaning team reached Jhinu, Chomrong, Lower Chomrong, Sinuwa, Bumbo which are under the
trail. Along with the army and ACAP, the hoteliers of Padmarg, mothers' groups and others joined the local sanitation campaign. The Nepali Army has handed over Acap Chomrong for the management of collected waste.
Sri Krishna Dal Gana's Ganapati Chief Sen. Rajendra Pudasaini, who led the cleaning campaign to make the footpath clean and attractive, said.
