'Annapurna Hirak Mahotsav' is going to be celebrated on the occasion of 75 years since Annapurna I (8091m) was climbed for the first time in the mountains above 8 thousand meters.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the first ascent of the Annapurna mountain located in Narchang, Annapurna rural municipality-4 of Myagdi, a festival is going to be held from May 16-22. The festival will be organized under the leadership of Annapurna Rural Municipality, Tourism Board, Mountaineering Association, ACAP and Local Tourism Management Committee.

On June 3, 1950, under the leadership of Phanseli mountaineer Maurice Harzog, four people including Louis Lachen and two Nepali Sherpas climbed Annapurna first mountain. They reached Annapurna first mountain by following the traditional sheep herding route of Humkhola, Bhusketmela at Siran of Narchang village in Myagdi, from the foothills of East Nilgiri South Himal to the foothills of East Nilgiri South Himal through Dana of Myagdi. Annapurna Himal 1st Mountain has been climbing for 75 years only from Mohada, northwest of Annapurna 1st Himal.

On the eve of Hirak Jayanti, the first climber Maurice  Harjo c Louis Lachenal and Nepali ally Sonam Wangchuk Sherpa are scheduled to be unveiled by former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Along with the unveiling, the family of Maurice Harzog, the first Annapurna climber, is handing over the equipment he used while climbing the Annapurna mountain to be kept at the International Mountain Museum in Pokhara.

At the base camp in the northern Mohada of the Annapurna first mountain, a half-height salik weighing 40 kg mixed with copper and brass has been unveiled. Tej Bahadur Gurung, an activist who participated in the identification and promotion of the climbing route of Annapurna first mountain, which was built by the Annapurna Narchang residents, said.

The North Base Camp of Annapurna Pratham Himal is also the common base camp of Nilgiri South. Annapurna North Base Camp has Panchkunda Himtal. After the hydropower project under construction in Mistrikhola, which flows from the same lake, the road has been extended to Humkhola.

'Due to the fact that the Tourism Department, which records the records of tourists and tourists, has mistakenly designated the Annapurna First Himal elsewhere, we have been deprived of the mountaineering royalty at the local level where the 8,000 meter high mountain Annapurna First Himal is located. We want to identify the Maurice Herzog Trail, which has a history of mountaineering, and correct the erroneous records in the Department of Tourism. The state should give correct information.'
