Gupsipakha area located in Dharche rural municipality-4 Laprak is looking attractive with the multi-colored cranes. Visitors take pictures of Gupsipakha's horns in front of them. But it is forbidden to pick the gourd in this area.
It is written next to the blooming gurans, "It is strictly forbidden to pick the red gurans, the national flower". Red and white guras are found in Gupsipakha area .
``The beauty of gurans is spoiled by random picking with guran branches,'' said Pravesh Ghale, who was found in Mamche.
Locals have been picking flowers for worship or household purposes with a knife that does not affect the plant. Kisan Gurung, the ward chairman of Dharche-4, said that this rule has been put in place through the Laprak Tourism Development Committee to protect the cattle.
'We used to pick only the flowers, we saw a tendency to break the branches and bring them in the car, breaking the branches affects the next year,' he said, 'It takes time to grow a guran plant, we have not been so strict to pick only the flowers without affecting the branches, we have allowed one or two flowers to be picked, we have been strict for the lawn by breaking the branches along with the forest users' group.
He said that he had banned the picking of guras in consultation. "After putting this notice, there has been more control than last year, now we have not found random picking," he said. "A red pale flower was blooming around February, then red blossomed, now white flowers are blooming," he said . There are 4 to 6 species of Guras in Gupsipakha, Nadur Pakha and Nasur Pakha areas of Laprak.
Locals say that Guras has been blooming late and early in the last few years . Gurans flower is also used for medicinal purposes in the village . Ward president Gurung said that there is also discussion about the use of juice from Guras of Gupsipakha area for other purposes.
Locals demand training and knowledge on how to use Guras Gupsipakha, which has become a destination for snow sports in winter, has now attracted tourists. Gurans have covered the forest area in the hilly areas of Gorkha including Siranchok, Ajirkot, Warpak Sulikot.
