For the first time in Nepal, the first national conference on 'Forest Organic Product Management and Sustainability of Agriculture' has started in Dumkibas of East Nawalparasi. Gandaki State Speaker Krishna Prasad Dhital inaugurated the conference which will last till Sunday at Dumkibas in Vinayi Triveni.
Opening the conference, Speaker Dhital said that everyone should pay attention to the proper use of natural resources. He said that since Nepal is a naturally rich country, it is necessary to save the nature and help the local people in economic development.
Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality and Division Forest Office coordinated with Binayi Community Bane Consumer Group and Nepal Bio Science Research Lab to organize the first national conference on 'Forest Biomaterials Management and Sustainability of Agriculture'. Since Binayi Community Forest produces and sells organic fertilizers using biomass, the conference has been organized focusing on this.
Ghanshyam Giri, President of Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality, said that the conference was held to make the goal of making organic fertilizer by managing the bushes that are not working in the forest and increasing production by linking it with agriculture. A manifesto will be issued after discussions between experts and stakeholders at the conference.
