The Bhujikhola bridge costing 3.34 million should have been completed in January 2074. But even after eight years, only two pillars of this bridge are standing. It is not even sure when it will be made.

Bhujikhola Bridge of Dhorpatan Municipality Ward No. 5 has reached its last decade. Since the bridge is not built, even the stranded pillars are at risk. According to the technician, nearly 2 road rupees have been spent here. 

The flood of Bhujikhola in 2077 opened the ground with half of the river near the pillar on the west. Due to which another pillar is needed. For that, the design needs to be changed. According to the then design, 50 percent of this bridge is unusable despite the physical progress. To build the bridge, the road division office has sent a new contract, design changes and other works to the department. 

Engineer Sagar Bhandari of the office said that there is no certainty of the amount, legal hurdles are yet to be cleared and the contract for the rest of the work could not be awarded due to technical reasons. Bhujikhola Bridge to be built at Adhikarichaur of Dhorpatan Municipality 5 was contracted by 'YP Rafina Joint Construction Company'.

If the contract dated 4th of August 2073 had been worked according to the agreement, it should have ended on 4th of January 2074 . After delaying for a long time, the office canceled the contract of this bridge three years ago after there was no progress even in the deadline which was extended on November 14, 2077.

Even though the contract has been cancelled, the locals have suffered every year in the journey. Due to the risk of rains, they are forced to take a detour to reach Budhathar . "The bridge was not built, nor was there a place to jump," said Chudamani Sapkota, a local, "The school  We have suffered forever to come home. The students of Bhuji Mabi here have suffered in winter and rain. It has been three years since the technician of the

division completed his work and sent the file to the ministry. Since the flow of the river is changing recently, the engineers are regularly reaching and mapping the changed structure and writing a report with the required amount. But Hariprasad Subedi, head of the division, said that due to financial crisis, the Ministry of Finance could not secure the budget.

At the same time, Daram Khola bridge is also stuck due to contractor's negligence. The Daramkhola bridge connecting Galkot Municipality Ward No. 8 to 9 has been stalled for 8 years. After repeatedly extending the deadline, the Roads Division Office Baglung canceled the contract of 'Y P Construction Pvt Ltd' for violating the Public Procurement Act. On the recommendation of the

division, the Federal Road and Supervision and Monitoring Office has completed all the procedures and has blacklisted the company. After the cancellation of the contract until the re-assurance of the remaining amount  The division has also not been able to proceed with the work after not getting a new contract.

After the contractor filed a case in the court, the division office is also confused . On November 23, 2079, the contractor filed a writ petition in the Patan High Court on the notice of the office's action. The contractor, who never came to work, tried to trouble the office by giving a case, but after the court ruled that there was no need to issue an interim order, the way was opened for the office to cancel the contract. But for the new contract, it has been stopped without getting an agreement on the meaning. 

It is mentioned in the contract that the Darmakhola bridge should be completed on the 9th of January 2075 if it is completed within the stipulated time . But there too, after extending the deadline up to three times and leaving the work stalled, the division office canceled the contract. Only one side pillar has been erected in this bridge of the contract agreement of 6 crore 17 lakh rupees . According to the engineer, although 40 percent of the bridge is said to have been completed, nothing is visible in the structure. Hariprasad Subedi, head of

division, said that due to the recent climate change, the design has to be changed after looking at the flow of floods that have started in the rivers. He informed that the approval of the Ministry of Finance is needed to ensure the budget along with the new design and to issue a new contract.

"Due to climate change, large floods started to occur in the rivers, the previous design did not work" Subedi said, "Now we have to build a bridge only by changing the height and other designs." He said that those pillars will not be useful if they cannot be used.
