District Police Office Tanahun said that 36-year-old Kamala Pariyar, a resident of Boudikali Rural Municipality-2 Armle in Nawalpur, killed her son Arjun Pariyar by pelting him with a stone.
According to the Tanahun police, on Monday evening at 7 pm, Kamala hit her son with a stone on the road from Bhimad to Nawalparasi Susta east of Dedhgaon, seriously injuring him.
Locals took the injured child to Rampur Hospital Palpa for treatment and he died at 9:30 pm during the treatment, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashok Thapa of District Police Office Tanahun informed.
Kamala has been detained by the local police office Dedhagaon and is being investigated by the court after extending the deadline in the case of duty killing.
