The construction of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly building, which has been a priority in the policy and program and budget every year, has finally progressed after 7 years. A new building with an area of 7 ropani is going to be built behind the existing building at Pokhara-3 Nadipur by spending 25 million rupees.
CDE Omraj Dhungana, Head of Urban Development and Building Office Kaski informed that new buildings will be built in 7 out of 110 plantations owned by the provincial government owned by the Urban Development Training Center. The office has signed a construction contract with Shrestha & Sons-East Best JV, Nayabaneshwar Kathmandu on January 18 for Rs. 2537.82 thousand 860 including VAT. Chief Dhungana said that an agreement has been made with the builders that the construction work should be completed within 36 months (3 years). According to the
agreement, the parliament building should be completed by 18th January 2018. The company entrusted with the construction has started cleaning the construction site since last week. He informed that the builders have taken the mobilization amount of 22.21 lakh 90 thousand rupees. After demolishing a tower in the construction site, the foundation stone of the building is ready to be laid. Under Urban Development and Building Office Kaski, the government allocated a budget of 90 million rupees for the construction of the state assembly building in the current financial year.

5 parliamentary party meeting rooms and 5 VIP offices will be built on the ground floor of the 3-storey building. The offices of the Chief Minister, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Leader of the Opposition and Parliament Secretariat Secretary will be on the ground floor.
Parliament meeting room will be on the first floor. There will be a chamber to accommodate 78 people. Also, the pigeon hole, general and VIP rooms, marshal's office, executive advisory committee meeting room, library, video conference and TV studio will be on the same floor. On the second floor, there will be an audience gallery with a capacity of 80 people, a multi-purpose meeting room, a store and a bardli. It has not been decided what to put on the third floor. The building will also have 2 elevators. Chamenagriha, parking will be built outside the building.
The building that currently houses the Provincial Assembly was built by the Local and Urban Development Training Center in 049. This multi-purpose hall was built by the then Government of His Highness and the German Technical Corporation (GTD) of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. 049 On October 1, the then Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala inaugurated the hall. As the hall is narrow, MPs have to be "coach". In the second term, the Provincial Assembly Secretariat has reduced the seats for spectators and journalists and widened the seats for MPs, which has made it easier to some extent.
During the first term of the state assembly, the government had prepared an estimate of 1.41 billion rupees. Since the state government alone could not make such a large investment and the union government also did not support, the work did not proceed at that time. This time, a cost estimate of Rs 449,491,000 including VAT was prepared. On July 21, 2008, 35 construction companies submitted proposals to build the building. Among them, Shrestha & Sons-East Best JV, New Baneshwar Kathmandu, which offered the lowest cost as 26 companies were selected, was entrusted with the construction.
Incumbent MPs will not be allowed to live in the new building as their term ends in December 084. According to the agreement, if the construction work is completed by 18 March 2018, the third-term parliamentarian will be able to participate in the parliament meeting held in the new building.
