Black paper has been started in Damauli Bazar area, the headquarters of Tanahun. As part of the Muglin-Pokhara road extension project under the Prithviraj highway, the black sheet work has been started at Damauli Bazar.
Engineer Vishnu Pandey of Muglin-Pokhara Road Plan (Eastern Section) has informed that the work has started in Damauli market area with the goal of completing the black sheet within one and a half months. In the eastern section, about 4 and a half kilometers of blacktop remains to be done. Out of that, we have started paving the road section of Damauli market area of about 1.8 km,' he said, 'We have accelerated the work to complete the paving of the eastern section within the current financial year.'
The Muglin-Pokhara road planned in 2025 is being divided into two parts, eastern and western sections, and the road expansion is underway. Aiming to be able to work by May 2081, China Communication Construction signed a contract for the eastern section for 6 billion 21 million 31 million 13 thousand rupees. However, after the work was not completed within the specified time period, the work was continued by extending the deadline for the third time. According to Pandey, engineer of the
plan, by the end of March, about 82 percent physical progress and 63 percent financial progress have been achieved. The first layer of 75 km one-way road has been paved in the eastern section, which is 41.45 km long. He added, 'Around 36 kilometers of 4-lane road has been paved in this section.' About 50 percent physical progress of the western section, which is 38.88 km, has been reported.
